Look Within

Many of us spend lots of time and money on maintaining how we look on the outside making sure we look our best, having our hair and nails done, having beauty treatments and wearing nice things. But, often we neglect what is going on inside ourselves.
It’s true if we feel that we look our best it makes us feel good and there is a lot to be said for dressing for an occasion – for instance power dressing but, just looking good isn’t all there is to it, it isn’t the answer to feeling completely right.
By addressing what is going on inside our minds we can help ourselves to feel good on the inside and that is the key to feeling great.
There may be issues stored in your subconscious that are holding you back, making you feel less confident and unsure about things.
Hypnotherapy can help you to feel good on the inside by changing your pattern of thinking restoring confidence and self esteem.

The mind is very powerful – what we think we become, our thoughts become our reality.

Think about stress and how that affects people. On a day to day basis it doesn’t seem too bad, often it is ignored and people struggle on without realising the damage they are doing to themselves, masking their inner feelings by making the outside look good with nice clothes and hair etc., but stress, if ignored can make you physically ill so it’s important to get help before things take over.

I see so many people that have left it too long and then need to take time off work taking medication to try and help, yes a rest or change of scene can help but they still aren’t addressing what is going on in the mind and that is so important. If they were to recognise that they need a little help earlier on they may not have reached crisis point.

So recognise some of the signs, feeling lethargic, mood swings, feeling you have no time to fit everything in, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations, overuse of alcohol or other stimulants, short tempered or tearful just to name a few. There are some physical signs to look out for too such as skin irritations, headaches and general aches and pains. I advise that you see your GP in the first instance for any of the above symptoms just to check there is nothing else going on for you.

Are you giving away your personal power?

Do you feel drained by certain people? Do you feel ‘odd’ around someone so that you can’t really say what you want or do what you want to do? You may be giving away your own personal power. It’s time to change and stop alowing others to drain you. It’s important to keep your own energy levels strong so that you are able to deal with the things that come your way in life. This doesn’t mean that you will be cruel or unkind to others. Having your own personal power gives you the strength to assert yourself in kind and loving ways.

Welcoming 2013 with Hypnotherapy Choice – Danbury

Happy New Year everyone! I decided to wait until now to write this as I thought I’d leave you to get over the come down from the festivities so now you should be ready to have a read and consider what 2013 means for you. I don’t mean New year resolutions – they can actually create pressure, no, I mean thinking about how you can move forward in 2013 to make your life more interesting and fulfilled.

I’m not going to bang on about January Blues and depression, I think we have read enough articles about those subjects and I don’t want to focus on the negative. So let’s think about how you could have more fun………. Get creative, take up new hobbies join dancing, singing, or yoga groups – these activities are so helpful in creating a positive state of mind. Getting creative is more than just making something it’s also about feelings. When you achieve something you feel good which carries over into the rest of your life whether it’s going to pottery classes or making greeting cards or learning a new sport – the possibilities are endless there is so much out there to do. Adult education colleges run oodles of classes and if you look on line you will find there are lots of crafting blogs which can really help to inspire you. Sport and physical fitness can give a feel good factor apart from the obvious fitness and weight loss that will be helped too. Then there is the social aspect of joining new groups, you could make new friends who are interested in the same activity.

“Oh it’s easy for you” I hear you say and you go on to list out why it would be hard for you – THAT IS NEGATIVE. We all have the capability to change our thoughts. Every time a negative thought comes to mind shout STOP in your mind, take a couple of deep breaths and relax a little then think about how you can change the thought to a positive.

I know life can be tough at times that’s why I’m in this job, It gives me tremendous pleasure being able to help people get through the rough stuff and move on with their lives.

Natural Childbirth with Hypnotherapy

Having a baby should be the most natural process a woman goes through, I’m not against medical supervision and assistance especially if there are complications but, we rely too heavily on drugs to get us through childbirth nowadays and many people opt for a ceasarean when there is no medical reason to do so. Hypnotherapy offers  assistance in giving birth in as naturally a way as possible, helping to alleviate any discomfort and allowing mother and baby to bond before the birth. Before the due date expectant mothers are taught how to relax and breath correctly throughout the stages of labour and when the final birth moment arrives. Mums are shown how to use self hypnosis which allows them to slip in and out as the need arises. The results are usally calmer happier babies and a more relaxed mum.
